Winnebago Lutheran Academy Traveling Choir

The WLA Traveling Choir is the premier vocal ensemble of Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Fond du Lac, WI, singing in five major concerts and more than 20 church services and other performances each school year. WLA is one of 23 high schools affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) and currently enrolls 325 students in grades 9-12. This year marks the Traveling Choir's fourth time singing in Carnegie Hall since 2004. In 2006, the WLA Traveling Choir was featured on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition singing for the Koepke family of Dundee, WI.

Carlsbad High School Festival Choir is made up of 34 elite vocalists from Chamber Singers, Sound Express and Encore. Throughout the year, the Carlsbad High School Choral Department competes all around Southern California. All three groups are extremely successful in their competing divisions and bring home numerous awards and recognition for the high school. In 2011, Carlsbad High School had the privilege to perform Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings at Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles with Eric Whitacre.

The Bakersfield College Chamber Singers have performed at state, division, and national conventions of the American Choral Directors Association under Dr. Kean's leadership. The Chamber Singers have championed Eric Whitacre's music since he was a 21-year-old student at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Later, they were among the first choirs to perform Eric Whitacre's "Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine" and "Five Hebrew Love Songs" which were conducted by the composer. Mr. Whitacre has conducted the Chamber Singers on three occasions. Eric and Ron have enjoyed a twenty-year friendship. His composition, "A Boy and a Girl," is dedicated to Dr. Kean.

With the opening of Hilliard Bradley High School in 2009 and comprised of the top auditioned singers, the Symphonic Choir has developed a reputation for performing choral repertoire at the highest standard of musical excellence and style. Founded on the pillars of PASSION, INTEGRITY and FAMILY, the members of the choir have consistently received superior ratings at the AA level. They have had the privilege to sing under noted choir director Hilary Apfelstadt on the Carnegie Hall stage, share the stage with Trace Adkins at the Candlelight Ceremony at Epcot in Walt Disney World, and offer the national anthem for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Naya Chorale is a new group of 38 singers created to perform high quality, hot, A Cappella repertoire that uplifts singers and audiences alike. Formed at the beginning of 2012 and fresh off the stage from their revolutionary debut concert, Naya’s choristers will tell you that this ensemble is fast-paced, challenging and a thrill to be a part of! "Absolutely inspirational", "utterly thrilling" and "you've changed the definition of choral music" are just some of the testimonials that Naya has received from its audience. Performing a powerful mix of traditional, contemporary and home grown repertoire, Naya and its conductor Adam Brockway bring energy, passion and attitude to their music.

The Prime Note Ensemble is Filipino Men’s Chorus in West Covina, Los Angeles County, in Southern California. It was, founded by Medard U. Obida on October 15, 2001 in Saudi Arabia, where it’s member used to work as expatriate Filipinos. Members enjoy the opportunity to rehearse & perform under the professional tutelage of its choirmaster and resident arranger Novem G. Cabios. Members of the choir are selected largely on the basis of character and musical ability. A large cross section of occupations is represented, as in the choir’s ranks are representatives of nearly every trade and profession. They sing because they love to share the beauty of choral music with people everywhere. All contribute their talents and time without compensation, except for the joy they receive in singing and the knowledge that they could help other people thru their individual efforts. The choir began competing internationally in 2006 at the 4th World Choir Games in Xiamen, China. What started as an innocent test of willpower ended up as the ultimate challenge for the choir members who have made music part of their lives. In May 2007, they participated on invitation in one of France’s choral festival, the Festival International de Chant Choral in Nancy and performed among other venues, at the UNESCO Heritage site Place Istanislas. This led to one competition after another as the group joined the 2008 World Choir Games in Graz, Austria where they earned the Silver Medal in the Male Chamber Category. It was followed by the choir’s participation in the American International Choral Festival in Reno-Tahoe in 2011. The group received Gold in the Folklore category and Silver in both the Male Chamber and Pop categories. At the recently concluded World Choir Games in Cincinnati, Ohio last July 2012, the Prime Note brought home three Silver medals, one each for the Male Chamber, Scenic Folklore and Pop Music categories.

Dennis Lee, native of grew up in Mason City, Iowa, and holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in music. The impact that music can have in profoundly touching people’s lives is what drives and impassions Dennis’ musical endeavors. In 2008 addition to founding and directing Una Vocis, Dennis is active in additional musical pursuits. In 2008 he Lee completed an one year interim position on the adjunct music faculty at Waldorf College in 2008, directing the collegiate women's choir. Dennis LeeDennis has served as Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Mason City,aFirst Presbyterian Church in localMason City church Iowa since 1997 and as Artistic Director of the North Iowa Messiah Choir and Orchestra since 1998. Beginning in college and continuing through the present, Dennis has directed several musical theatre productions. Beginning in college with Kiss Me Kate, he has also directed the musical theatre productions Fiddler on the Roof in 1997, and Amahl and the Night Visitors in 2012. Before returning to Iowa in 1995While living in Seattle in the mid 1990’s, Dennis LeeDennis and his wife lived in Seattle and sang with the Seattle Symphony Chorale. When not performing and directing music, he enjoys software engineering at his day job, figure skating, waterskiing, and spending time with his family.

Conducted by Dr. Dwight Bigler, the Chamber Singers is a select mixed ensemble that performs literature spanning the Renaissance to the 21st century. This ensemble has been featured at conventions of the Virginia Music Teachers Association, Virginia Music Educators Association, and American Choral Directors Association. They recently performed at the Vatican and St. Mark's Basilica in Venice as part of their 2012 Italy tour. They have also performed in the Washington National Cathedral, Carnegie Hall, and Brooklyn Academy of Musics' Howard Gilman Opera House. Recent projects include collaborations with Opera Roanoke and the New River Valley Symphony Orchestra, including performances in Mozart'sRequiem, Verdi's Otello, and Purcell's Dido and Aeneas.

The Westhampton Beach High School Chamber Singers is a co-curricular ensemble consisting of the most advanced vocalists in grades 9-12. This ensemble is highly respected in our community; having performed at concerts, various school/community events and county-wide engagements. They have also collaborated with such artists as the SUNY Potsdam Pointercounts (2011 ICCA Competition finalists) & Dr. David Rayl (Michigan State University). Committed to performing the works of contemporary composers, the Singers have debuted and collaborated with composers such as Daniel Braunstein, Brandon Ulrich and the London-based composer, Paul Ayres. The Chamber Singers have received many honors & accolades, including invitations to perform at the Centereach High School A Cappella Invitational and earning highest honors at various festival adjudications.
