Sing Democracy 250 brings together voices from across America, singing together for democracy and the promise of a more perfect union. The music is powerful: two new major works, one based on the Langston Hughes’ poem “Let America Be America Again”, and the other based on Richard Haass’ book The Bill of Obligations: The Ten Habits of Good Citizens. The music combines an honest look at America’s history, the ideals of the Declaration of Independence, and the American dream, with a clear reminder that American democracy is in our hands—that we, the people, have obligations to each other and to this country. This program is a testimony to the grandeur, the spirit, and the possibility of our united American nation.
Please note: Tickets will be on sale 60 days before the concert.
