Vocal Colors
Mater Dei High School Choir, conducted by Jodi Reed, and Westchester Children's Choir, conducted by Amanda Gundling and Jennifer Giustino, will grace the renowned David Geffen Hall this April to perform a beautiful concert of choral works. On each respective act, the visiting California high school and the local Children's choir will perform wide-ranging repertoire that is sure to impress.

The music of Heather Sorenson and Pepper Choplin will rejoice through Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage this Spring. Heather Sorenson brings her new work These Ancient Words for a Carnegie Hall premiere, conducting hundreds of singers and the wonderful DCO. Pepper Choplin leads the baton on his own act as well, featuring his work Our Father.

Memorial Day Weekend 2024 heralds in a world premiere of a new work by composer Mark Hayes. Centered on themes of unity and kindness, the new piece will appeal to a broad range of singers and audience alike. Opposite of this piece will be an act led under the skilled baton of DCINY Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Jonathan Griffith, as singers from around the globe come together to perform the masterwork Mozart’s Requiem, featuring the outstanding DCO.

Join us as conductors Dr. Irene Messoloras and Dr. Jose Daniel Flores-Caraballo lead audiences into A Soul Filled Journey with the incomparable music of the world-renowned composer Ola Gjeilo. This concert will feature Gjeilo’s recently premiered new work Twilight Mass commissioned by DCINY, along with many of his best-known pieces such as Sacred Heart and Across the Vast, Eternal Sky. Alongside hundreds of global singers and the DCO, Ola Gjeilo himself will accompany on piano.

DCINY celebrates the American tradition of country-style Bluegrass music with an electrifying blend of gospel and folk in Carol Barnett’s, The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass led by DCINY Guest Conductor Tucker Biddlecombe. Along with the Distinguished Concerts Singers International, New York City’s very own Downtown Voices will be featured amongst the choir, with a special solo act including pieces by Rachmaninoff, Schönberg, and Sheehan, directed by Stephen Sands.

A concert of songs and instrumental compositions of a lyrical, nostalgic and traditional character from various locations of the Greece and the Greek diaspora that make up the canvas of the contemporary Greek culture.
The concert will be comprised of compositions of classical character by Dinos Constantinides, Athanasios Zervas, of popular character by Nikos Gounaris, Spyros Olandezos, Giorgos Kostis, and traditional songs re-arranged and transformed to the present time, in a process to give a holistic view of the poetry, music, letters and culture in general of Romiosini and Greeks worldwide.
