Participating Group Directors

A Cappellissimo
Grete Daling
Grete Daling holds a master degree in music and graduated with the voice as her main instrument from the Department of Music at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. She also completed a three year course at the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is thus an authorized teacher of Complete Vocal Technique. In addition to conducting A Cappellissimo, Grete is a lecturer at the Nord University and is an active singer, vocal coach, and conductor. She is extremely dedicated as both a teacher and musician and is frequently engaged in new projects involving coaching or musical performances.

A Cappellissimo is a chamber choir of 25-30 singers based in Trondheim, Norway. The choir was established in 1996 and originated from student choirs at the university. The singers in A Cappellissimo greatly benefit from conductor Grete Daling’s vocal coaching skills and never-ending enthusiasm and energy. A Cappellissimo likes the challenge of working with different genres ranging from classical sacred music to ethnical music like Sami joik and folk songs of the Balkans. The choir mainly performs a cappella music but regularly collaborates with various musical ensembles and solo artists.

Bothell High School Choir
Sheryl Erickson
Sheryl Erickson has been teaching music for the past 37 years. She has taught at the elementary and secondary levels and is currently the Director of Choral Music at Bothell High School in the Northshore School District. Under her leadership the choirs have received superior ratings at festivals and contests in the Northwest. She is a frequent adjudicator of choir and solo festivals in the greater Seattle area. Mrs. Erickson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and  a Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of Washington.

This group of auditioned singers represents Bothell High School at various events in the community as well as concerts and festivals throughout the school year. In addition to their commitment to the choral program, many of the students study voice and piano privately and are actively involved in drama, athletics and leadership at the high school. The auditioned choirs have received gold ratings in National Choirs Festivals in Washington D.C., San Francisco, New York and Southern California.
